Alternate pick up and drop off requests

Please complete this form and return to the Transportation Office each year if your student requires an alternate pick up or drop off location.

Private School Transportation Requests

Residents of the Voorheesville School District who are eligible for transportation to non-public schools under the 15 mile limit are required to file an application each year.  Transportation to non-public schools is provided on days that Voorheesville Central School District is in session.  Please refer to our school calendar for schedule.

Complete and return this form to request transportation to private school(s) for your children.

Emergency School Closings

Schools will be closed when snow or poor road conditions make travel difficult or impossible. School closings, delayed openings and early dismissals resulting from weather conditions or other situations will be posted on the homepage of the school website and sent out via SchoolMessenger. In addition to the homepage of the district website, individuals may also access school closing information via media outlets.

SchoolMessenger

SchoolMessenger is a way to receive email news from the district and its schools: including emergency notifications, such as school closings/delays and emergency situations in schools.

Students Riding Home with Other Students

Requests for students to ride home with other students will only be granted for students who are assigned to the same bus route. No requests will be considered for students wishing to ride home with a student on a different bus route. Email the transportation office your request at transportation@voorheesville.org.

Bus Safety

  • Be ready when the bus arrives.
  • Bus drivers have the authority to assign seats, give directions, and implement rules for the safe and orderly conduct of students.
  • Acceptable public behavior will be expected of all bus riders.
  • Wait for the driver to signal it’s safe to pass in front of the bus. Never pass behind the bus when crossing the street to or from a bus.
  • Do not enter or leave the bus when it is in motion.
  • Remain behind the white line so as not to interfere with the driver.
  • Heads or arms are never to be extended from bus windows.
  • Avoid eating on the bus and help keep the bus neat.
  • Shouting, fighting, offensive language, or smoking will result in loss of bus privileges.
  • Remain seated until the bus stops at your destination.
  • Bus drivers will report violations of the above.
  • Students who violate the regulations can have their bus privileges revoked.
