Board of Education

Regular meetings of the Voorheesville Board of Education are typically held on the second Monday of every month, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the LGI  (large group instruction room), unless otherwise noted.

The Voorheesville Central School District Board of Education has moved entirely to Board Docs, and all agendas and minutes are now on this resource. You may visit BoardDocs at any time, and as soon as a new agenda is posted, it will be available to view publicly on that site. All of the supplemental links that accompany the Board meetings are here are for your convenience. Agendas are posted online 48 hours before the meeting. Meeting minutes are posted after they have been approved by the Board of Education at the subsequent meeting.

Officers for the 2023-24 School Year

Thursday, July 6, 2023 – at the Voorheesville Central School District Board of Education Meeting, District Clerk Jessica Tabakian administered the Oath of Office to newly elected board member Barbara Owens, and newly reelected board member Rachel Gilker. Gilker was sworn in as BOE President; Rob Samson was sworn in as Vice President.

BOE Student Representative

Paige Layman has been selected as the ex officio student representative and will serve throughout the 2023-24 school year. 

Layman will sit with board members at all public meetings of the Board of Education and participate in public hearings and meetings but will not be required to participate in mandatory board training.

To be considered for the student representative position, interested candidates must be seniors who have attended the high school for at least two years prior to selection. Layman’s selection process included Clayton A. Bouton HS Principal Kristin DuGuay verifying the requirements outlined in the Board’s policy. After consideration of all the candidates, Superintendent Macri made the final selection.
