Professional Staff Opportunities
Secondary Choral and General Music Teacher
This is a probationary vocal/general music teacher position at the Voorheesville Middle School and Clayton A. Bouton High School, beginning Sept. 1, 2025. The salary and benefits for this position are pursuant to the current VTA contract.
Qualifications:
- New York State K-12 Music Certification
- Ability to direct large choral ensembles
- Ability to teach middle school or high school general music within the guidelines of the NY State Standards for the Arts and the district’s curriculum
- Strong piano skills desired
- Excellent knowledge of vocal pedagogy and choral techniques
- Excellent classroom management skills with large ensemble classes
- Dedication to teaching and instilling an appreciation of music with middle and high school students
- Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position

District Support Staff Application Form
Position: Custodial Worker
The Voorheesville Central School District has an opening for a custodial worker. This position is eight hours per day, with Saturdays as needed. The duties of a custodial worker include routine cleaning, semi-skilled maintenance tasks, and related work as required. The position will be under the supervision of the Custodial Work Supervisor II. Salary and benefits are as stated in the UEV contract. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
Examples of custodial worker duties include, but are not limited to:
- Sweeps, mops and waxes floors.
- Washes walls, windows and blackboards.
- Cleans and mops lavatories and locker rooms.
- Assists with snow removal.
- Replaces light bulbs, towels, toilet tissue, soap and other supplies.
- Empties wastebaskets and disposes of rubbish.
- Makes minor repairs to furniture, electrical fixtures, windows and window shades, locks, faucets,heating system and other equipment.
- Receives, moves and stores incoming school supplies.
- Turns off lights and locks doors.
- Performs a variety of errands and related custodial duties as needed.
Qualifications
- High school graduation is a plus.

Position: Food Service Worker
The Voorheesville Central School District anticipates openings for food service workers for the 2025-26 school year. This position is 4 hours/day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.. The position will be under the supervision of the cafeteria manager. Applications will be accepted as they are received. Candidates will be promptly scheduled for an interview.

- High school graduation is a plus.
- Food service experience is a plus.
- Must be able to take and follow directions.

Under the direction of a higher-level employee, the food service worker will perform a variety of activities related to the storage, preparations, and service of food. Duties may include but not limited to the following:
- Wash food service equipment, including garbage cans and general kitchen cooking utensils, by hand and machine, using a variety of cleaning substances.
- Wash storage areas, including food preparation areas, by hand and machine, using a variety of cleaning substances.
- Store deliveries in appropriate areas.
- Bring food and other supplies to preparation and serving areas as directed.
- Clean fruits and vegetables, in preparation for cooking as directed.
- Cook grill-type food such as hamburgers and eggs.
- Serve food in the proper portions to students.
- Ensure students on special diets receive proper food and portions.
- Wash and sanitize dining room areas including chairs, tables and floors.
- Various duties as assigned.
SALARY: $17.58 – $20.70 hourly, per UEV contract

School Nurse Substitute
The Voorheesville Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for School Nurse Substitute positions to provide nursing care during the 2025-2026 school year. Salary for this position is $170.00/day.
Qualifications:
- Licensed RN or LPN.
- Experience in school nursing preferred.
- Excellent health, work habits, and employment attendance history.
- Good college record and excellent references.
- Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
- Fingerprint clearance in accordance with the regulations of NYSED.
General Duties:
- Communicate with parents and staff regarding health needs and concerns.

Transportation
Position: Bus Driver
Drivers work routes for two in-district public schools, and provide transportation for district children going to private schools, to Special Education placements and for district field trips and athletic events on an as-needed basis. Training available for qualified candidates.
Hours may vary: Generally from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.,Sept. – June
This posting is a continuous recruitment for school bus drivers beginning immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school graduation or possession of GED is required.
- Class B license with passenger and school bus endorsements is preferred. Training available for qualified candidates.
- Drivers with CDL Class B permit will be trained.
- Must have a neat appearance.
- There will be a background check, drug testing and fingerprinting (as required by law).
- Physical condition commensurate with demands of the position.
- Must be reliable and able to work school attendance days.
Supervisor will conduct a formal review of performance approximately four months after commencement of employment in this position.

Position: Occasional Substitute Bus Dispatcher
The duties of a Substitute School Bus Dispatcher include assisting in the daily office operational aspects of the school district’s bus fleet such as, answering calls, and communicating with transportation staff. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, or his/her designee.
General Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Receives calls and messages pertaining to the operation of the school bus fleet by 2-way radio and telephone; logs and forwards calls as appropriate

Position: Bus Monitor
The Voorheesville Central School District has an opening for a bus monitor. Responsibilities include assisting and monitoring students. This person will work under the supervision of the bus driver and transportation supervisor. Person chosen for this position will be required to undergo training on a medical device and take the 10 hour training.

HOURS: 4 hours each day, (2 hours a.m., 2 hours p.m.)
