Administrative Opportunities

Position: Grades 6–12 Assistant Principal/DEI Liaison

The Voorheesville Central School District is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time probationary position as a Grades 6–12 Assistant Principal/DEI Liaison at Voorheesville Middle School and C.A. Bouton High School. This position supports the overall administration and daily operation of the grades 6–12 campus, including student supervision, school safety, APPR support, student discipline, restorative practices, extracurricular activities, and campus operations.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) is a shared responsibility at VCSD. The DEI Liaison will partner with building and district leadership to support inclusive practices and initiatives that foster a welcoming and supportive environment for all students, staff, and families.

The position begins in the 2026-27 school year.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborates with students, staff, and families to foster a safe, inclusive, student-centered school culture.
  • Assists with campus supervision, student management, attendance, and school safety procedures.
  • Supports conflict resolution and restorative practices that promote meaningful, fair, and effective student accountability.
  • Assists in the supervision and evaluation of instructional and non-instructional staff, including APPR support responsibilities.
  • Assists in the preparation of the master schedule and student schedules.
  • Assists in the coordination and supervision of extracurricular activities, assemblies, school events, and student programs.
  • Serves as DASA Coordinator and assists in investigations related to student concerns and behavioral matters.
  • Assists in coordinating building-level emergency response procedures, safety drills, and related compliance activities.
  • Supports implementation of DEIB initiatives and culturally responsive practices across the secondary campus.
  • Collaborates with counselors, teachers, support staff, and families to monitor student progress and support student well-being and success.
  • Uses attendance, behavioral, and student performance data to help identify areas of need and support interventions.
  • Supports consistency and alignment of student expectations and procedures across the grades 6–12 campus.
  • Performs record-keeping, reporting, and other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
  • Serves as building leadership in the absence of a principal.
  • Performs such other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the principals.

Required Qualifications:

  • School District Administrator (SDA), School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS), or School Building Leader (SBL) certification required.
  • Minimum of four years successful educational experience; administrative experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of student support systems, restorative practices, school operations, APPR processes, and behavioral/intervention supports.
  • Ability to relate to adolescent learners and demonstrate commitment to their social-emotional, behavioral, and academic well-being.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and culturally responsive practices.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents/guardians, and community stakeholders.

Salary: $91,000-$113,000, commensurate with experience and transcripts, per VAA contract

Professional Staff Opportunities

Position: Social Studies Teacher (Leave Replacement)

The Voorheesville Central School District is seeking a qualified candidate for one full-time long-term leave replacement position as a social studies teacher at Clayton A. Bouton High School. The position begins approximately Sept. 1, 2026 and continues through June 30, 2027, approximately.

  • Fully certified in New York state in Social Studies 7-12

Position: Occupational Therapist K-12 (0.4)

The Voorheesville Central School District is seeking a qualified candidate for a 0.4 probationary position as an occupational therapist K-12 at Voorheesville Elementary School. The position begins on September 1, 2026. The occupational therapist will be an integral part of the school community addressing the preventative, developmental and remedial needs of students. The occupational therapist will provide individual and group therapy, conduct assessments and work closely with staff to support students’ fine, visual and sensory motor needs across settings.

Qualifications:

  • Fully certified in New York state as a registered Occupational Therapist
  • Experience at the elementary and secondary level
  • Ability to work effectively with students of all grade levels
  • Experience interpreting IEP goals, maintaining data and writing Medicaid notes

    Support Staff Opportunities

    Position: Building Maintenance Worker

    The Voorheesville Central School District is seeking a qualified candidate for a probationary building maintenance worker position. This twelve-month position for a semi-skilled worker involves responsibility for independently performing a variety of mechanical and other building maintenance tasks as needed. This individual will work under the immediate supervision of the head custodian and the overall supervision of the director of facilities. Salary and benefits are as stated in the UEV contract.

    Qualifications:

    • High school graduate, applicable training beyond high school a plus
    • Willingness to work as needed
    • Neat appearance (uniform required)
    • Good knowledge of modern buildings and grounds maintenance and repair practices
    • Valid NYS driver’s license required
    • Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position
    • Background check and fingerprint clearance (as required by law)
    • Two (2) years of experience in either general building construction or maintenance work in one or more of the standard trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or grounds keeping

    Typical Work Duties:

    • Perform semi-skilled work in masonry, carpentry, electrical or painting operations. Examples of work include, but are not limited to: helps install and repair wiring systems and electric fixtures and equipment; repairs windows, doors, floors, walls; interior and exterior painting; helps to install and repair general plumbing equipment; operates trucks and other motorized equipment; shovels snow and applies ice/snow removal products to surfaces
    • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

    Position: Custodial Worker

    The Voorheesville Central School District has two openings for custodial workers. This position is eight hours per day, with Saturdays as needed. The duties of a custodial worker include routine cleaning, semi-skilled maintenance tasks, and related work as required. The position will be under the supervision of the Custodial Work Supervisor II. Salary is and benefits are as stated in the UEV contract. This is a full-time, 12-month position.

    Examples of Custodial Worker duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Sweeps, mops and waxes floors.
    • Washes walls, windows and blackboards.
    • Cleans and mops lavatories and locker rooms.
    • Assists with snow removal.
    • Replaces light bulbs, towels, toilet tissue, soap and other supplies.
    • Empties wastebaskets and disposes of rubbish.
    • Makes minor repairs to furniture, electrical fixtures, windows and window shades, locks, faucets,heating system and other equipment.
    • Receives, moves and stores incoming school supplies.
    • Turns off lights and locks doors.
    • Performs a variety of errands and related custodial duties as needed.

    Qualifications

    1. High school graduation is a plus.
    2. Custodial experience is a plus.
    3. Ability to take and follow directions.
    4. Willingness to work the schedule that best suits the district’s needs.
    5. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
    6. Good work record and recommendations.
    7. Background check and fingerprinting, as required by law.

      Position: School Nurse Substitute

      The Voorheesville Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for School Nurse Substitute positions to provide nursing care during the 2025-2026 school year. Salary for this position is $170.00/day.

       Qualifications:

      1. Licensed RN or LPN.
      2. Experience in school nursing preferred.
      3. Excellent health, work habits, and employment attendance history.
      4. Good college record and excellent references.
      5. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

      General Duties:

        Transportation

        Position: Bus Driver

        Drivers work routes for two in-district public schools, and provide transportation for district children going to private schools, to Special Education placements and for district field trips and athletic events on an as-needed basis. Training available for qualified candidates.

        Hours may vary: Generally from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.,Sept. – June

        This posting is a continuous recruitment for school bus drivers beginning immediately.

         Qualifications:

        1. High school graduation or possession of GED is required.
        2. Class B license with passenger and school bus endorsements is preferred. Training available for qualified candidates.
        3. Drivers with CDL Class B permit will be trained.
        4. Must have a neat appearance.
        5. There will be a background check, drug testing and fingerprinting (as required by law).
        6. Physical condition commensurate with demands of the position.
        7. Must be reliable and able to work school attendance days.

        Position: Substitute Bus Monitor

        The bus monitor assists special and general education student(s) while on the school bus, providing supervision to ensure a safe and supportive transportation experience. The monitor works closely with the bus driver to oversee student behavior and safety. Candidates must be willing and able to assist with wheelchairs as needed. Specific training will be provided if required.  Shifts are school days only, minimally 2 hours, morning and/or afternoon shifts as needed.

        Responsibilities:

        1. Assist the driver in ensuring student safety at all times.
        2. Attend all required safety meetings and participate in training, including:
          – Emergency evacuation procedures
          – Proper methods for loading and unloading
          – Supporting students with medical or behavioral needs (e.g., epilepsy, diabetes)
        3. Build positive relationships with students and families; support student management in collaboration with the driver.
        4. Operate safety equipment, including wheelchair tie-downs and lifts, and follow all emergency protocols.

        Qualifications:

        1. High school graduate or equivalent
        2. Must be reliable and able to work all school attendance days
        3. Completion of Bus Monitor Training Course (provided)
        4. Ability to work well with children, especially those with special needs
        5. Background check and fingerprinting required (per state law)
        6. Must pass a physical performance test

        Position: Occasional Substitute Bus Dispatcher

        The duties of a Substitute School Bus Dispatcher include assisting in the daily office operational aspects of the school district’s bus fleet such as, answering calls, and communicating with transportation staff. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, or his/her designee.

        General Duties may include, but are not limited to:

        • Receives calls and messages pertaining to the operation of the school bus fleet by 2-way radio and telephone; logs and forwards calls as appropriate
        • Dispatches bus fleet and drivers/personnel by 2-way radio or telephone and logs calls as appropriate
