Administrative Opportunities
Position: Middle School Principal
The administrator will be responsible for the leadership related to curriculum, instruction, and management in grades 6-8 school building. The middle school principal is responsible for the ongoing operations of their school buildings, to ensure high levels of student achievement for all students, and to provide oversight and guidance for the administration of all activities/functions within the school. The successful candidate will report to the superintendent and will work collaboratively with all other administrators and staff (both instructional/non-instructional) to ensure the effective operation of the school, achievement of district and building goals, and implementation of the VCSD Board of Education policies and directives.
Qualifications:
- A valid NYS certification as a School District Administrator (SDA) and/or School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) or School District Leader (SDL).
- Prefer at least three years experience in public school administration and supervision, and at least five years successful experience as a classroom teacher at the appropriate level or such alternatives to the above qualifications the VCSD Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Knowledge of NYS school law, SED regulations, curriculum trends, and current issues in education and administration.
- Experience developing strategies to create a supportive, positive learning environment for staff and students.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, special education, the implementation of New York State standards/mandates, and creating an equitable/inclusive environment for all.

Performance Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership and Curriculum Development
- Engage in effective instructional leadership. Articulate a vision for an effective school and translate the vision into goals for teachers, administrators, and support staff.
- Work with the VCSD Director of Curriculum to enact VCSD Board of Education district curriculum initiatives.
- Coordinate and evaluate curriculum offerings.
- Analyze data to ensure instructional effectiveness.
- Assume the lead role in the ongoing integration of technology into the curriculum.
- Collaborate with administrative team to engage in ongoing evaluation of K-12 programming consistency.
- Coordinate report card and interim report process.
- Act as a resource for students, teachers, and parents in delivering educational and related services to students.
Staff Supervision
- Participate in the selection, development, supervision, and evaluation of school staff.
- Supervise and evaluate programs and staff involved in the delivery of specialized educational programs.
- Supervise and evaluate classroom instruction.
- Develop the high school master schedule in coordination with the high school.
- Serve as a member of the VCSD Committee on Special Education and the Pupil Services Team.
Student Growth, Development, and Supervision
- Demonstrate an understanding of the unique needs of adolescent learners and middle school programming.
- Encourages communication between students/parents and the school by establishing and maintaining positive relationships.
- Develop and enact a comprehensive plan to ensure all students have the opportunity to be challenged to their highest level.
- Supervise and maintain a program of student discipline and consistent attendance.
- Monitor the progress of at-risk students. Propose appropriate intervention strategies.
- Assist in the supervision of after-school and extracurricular activities.
- Co-supervises the counseling program to enhance individual student education and development.
Policy and Facilities
- Prepare the school budget and set building policy according to state regulations and local board policy.
- Serve as the administrative member of the MS/HS Site-Based Management Team.
- Work with the Operations/Maintenance Supervisor, the Transportation Coordinator, and the Food Service Director to maintain safe, productive, and efficient programs.
Community Engagement
- Act as liaison with outside agencies to coordinate student services as directed by the superintendent.
- Attends school-sponsored activities, functions, and athletic events held to recognize student achievement.
- Facilitate and maintain proactive, positive communication with staff members, students, parents, school organizations, and the Voorheesville community.

Support Staff Opportunities
Position: Custodial Worker
The Voorheesville Central School District has two openings for custodial workers. This position is eight hours per day, with Saturdays as needed. The duties of a custodial worker include routine cleaning, semi-skilled maintenance tasks, and related work as required. The position will be under the supervision of the Custodial Work Supervisor II. Salary is and benefits are as stated in the UEV contract. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
Examples of Custodial Worker duties include, but are not limited to:
- Sweeps, mops and waxes floors.
- Washes walls, windows and blackboards.
- Cleans and mops lavatories and locker rooms.
- Assists with snow removal.
- Replaces light bulbs, towels, toilet tissue, soap and other supplies.
- Empties wastebaskets and disposes of rubbish.
- Makes minor repairs to furniture, electrical fixtures, windows and window shades, locks, faucets,heating system and other equipment.
- Receives, moves and stores incoming school supplies.
- Turns off lights and locks doors.
- Performs a variety of errands and related custodial duties as needed.
Qualifications
- High school graduation is a plus.
- Custodial experience is a plus.
- Ability to take and follow directions.
- Willingness to work the schedule that best suits the district’s needs.
- Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
- Good work record and recommendations.

Position: School Nurse Substitute
The Voorheesville Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for School Nurse Substitute positions to provide nursing care during the 2025-2026 school year. Salary for this position is $170.00/day.
Qualifications:
- Licensed RN or LPN.
- Experience in school nursing preferred.
- Excellent health, work habits, and employment attendance history.
- Good college record and excellent references.
- Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
- Fingerprint clearance in accordance with the regulations of NYSED.
General Duties:
- Communicate with parents and staff regarding health needs and concerns.

Position: Mechanic
Voorheesville Central School District is seeking a qualified candidate for a part-time automotive mechanic. This person must be familiar with the operation and maintenance work of diesel buses, gas engines, schoolbuses, vans, suburbans, and district vehicles. The work may include, but is not limited to, conducting fuel and electrical diagnostics with limited supervision, completing most repairs, etc.
Salary: $24.59 per hour per UEV Contract

Qualifications:
- High school graduate
- Experience as a skilled automotive mechanic, in the school bus area preferred, experience on international buses is a plus
- Ability to take and follow directions
- Physical condition commensurate with demands of the position
- Good work record
- Clean driving record
- Clean Class B license with passenger and school bus endorsements (district will train if needed)

Position: Bus Driver
Drivers work routes for two in-district public schools, and provide transportation for district children going to private schools, to Special Education placements and for district field trips and athletic events on an as-needed basis. Training available for qualified candidates.
Hours may vary: Generally from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.,Sept. – June
This posting is a continuous recruitment for school bus drivers beginning immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school graduation or possession of GED is required.
- Class B license with passenger and school bus endorsements is preferred. Training available for qualified candidates.
- Drivers with CDL Class B permit will be trained.
- Must have a neat appearance.
- There will be a background check, drug testing and fingerprinting (as required by law).

Position: Substitute Bus Monitor
The bus monitor assists special and general education student(s) while on the school bus, providing supervision to ensure a safe and supportive transportation experience. The monitor works closely with the bus driver to oversee student behavior and safety. Candidates must be willing and able to assist with wheelchairs as needed. Specific training will be provided if required. Shifts are school days only, minimally 2 hours, morning and/or afternoon shifts as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the driver in ensuring student safety at all times.
- Attend all required safety meetings and participate in training, including:
– Emergency evacuation procedures
– Proper methods for loading and unloading
– Supporting students with medical or behavioral needs (e.g., epilepsy, diabetes) - Build positive relationships with students and families; support student management in collaboration with the driver.
- Operate safety equipment, including wheelchair tie-downs and lifts, and follow all emergency protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Must be reliable and able to work all school attendance days
- Completion of Bus Monitor Training Course (provided)
- Ability to work well with children, especially those with special needs
- Background check and fingerprinting required (per state law)
- Must pass a physical performance test

Position: Occasional Substitute Bus Dispatcher
The duties of a Substitute School Bus Dispatcher include assisting in the daily office operational aspects of the school district’s bus fleet such as, answering calls, and communicating with transportation staff. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, or his/her designee.
General Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Receives calls and messages pertaining to the operation of the school bus fleet by 2-way radio and telephone; logs and forwards calls as appropriate
- Dispatches bus fleet and drivers/personnel by 2-way radio or telephone and logs calls as appropriate
