Dear Voorheesville Central School District families:
Today (Sept. 8), at approximately 3:15 p.m., a Voorheesville Central School District bus transporting private-school students was involved in a minor accident on Central Avenue in Albany. There were seven students on the bus. A nurse from VCSD examined the students and found no injuries. The district bus driver was also unharmed.
VCSD contacted the parents and guardians of the students involved, and a new bus was sent to the scene to transport the students home. All VCSD Transportation Department policies are being followed.
Albany Police Department was called to the scene and will share their findings. The early indication is that our driver was not at fault.
Nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of our students, and the factors that led to this accident will be carefully investigated and evaluated.
