Who Can Vote
Voters must be at least 18 years old, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the Voorheesville Central School District for at least 30 days prior to the vote.
Voters may be required to show proof of residency before voting. If you did not vote last year, please be prepared to provide the clerk with identification. For example, a driver’s license or utility bill.
Polling Information
Polls will be open on May 19, 2026 from 2:30 to 9 p.m. in the Voorheesville Middle School foyer at 432 New Salem Road Voorheesville, NY.
Early Vote/Absentee/Military Ballots:
Early Mail and Absentee Ballots: Voters who are unable to vote in person and want an absentee ballot or an early mail ballot may request the ballot by filling out the appropriate application.
Voters requesting that an absentee ballot or early mail ballot be sent to them by mail must submit a completed application to the district clerk at least seven days before the vote, by Tuesday, May 12, at 3 p.m. Completed ballots must be returned to the district clerk by May 19, 2026, to be counted.
Military Ballot: Education Law makes special provisions for military voters. Military ballots need to be delivered to military voters at least 25 days before the day of the election. That means this year, we will send out military ballots by April 24, 2026. Also, whereas early mail and absentee ballots must be received by the voter by mail or in-person, a military voter may receive their ballot application and ballot by mail, email, facsimile, or in-person. Military ballots must be received by the district clerk by mail or in person and must be received no later than 5 p.m. on May 19, 2026 (the day of the election).
Contact VCSD Board Clerk Jessica Tabakian at jtabakian@voorheesville.org with any questions or to request a printed ballot.
