drawing with pink hearts and smile faces with words have pride for other students VES 5th grade students have made pride posters to put around the school encouraging kindness and anti- bullying.

We made them because there was some bullying behavior going on. A fifth grade student (A.K.A. me) recommended that we make posters and hang them around the school. We made them in school and some of us finished them at home. Now, the school is decorated with encouraging posters to make us feel happy and supported.

Some of the poster ideas were “It’s ok to be different”, “Stand up for yourself and others”, “Don’t be the bystander, be the upstander” and “Choose kindness”.

The posters have really helped stop bullying, and not only do the posters encourage kindness, but they also make the school very colorful.

The 5th grade students worked very hard to make them. There are also posters that have totally different themes than others. There is one poster in the small gym that doesn’t have any words on it, only the colors that people’s skin may be. Some of the posters have the theme “knock negativity out of the park”.

Those posters have definitely encouraged the students to be kind to one another. I am so glad that the posters were made because they have encouraged the students at VES to be kind and not give up.
