Fifth Grade Band

The Bugler Junior

written by Shayla Hyman & Lily Seggos

There are so many things to offer in fifth grade, and band is one of the favorites. Band includes many instruments and learning experiences to offer. The instruments include: Trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, trombone, percussion, flute, baritone, tuba, and french horn.

There will be a performance February 17th performed by all of the band along with the handchime choir and chorus.

Fifth graders have band lessons with either Mr. Janson or Mrs. Beauregard. The lesson lasts about thirty minutes and it includes about four to six people. The lessons happen during the day.

Band rehearsals are with the whole band, this year they are split into two groups based on class. They will play every day three or six, depending on their group. The rehearsals start at about 7:30 and end at around 8:25.

The clarinets are the most popular and contain the most people. The tubas only contain two people.

Fourth graders will choose three instruments they might play, about five days into summer the fourth graders will find out which instrument they will play the following year.

We personally think that band is really fun!
