Dear Parents and Guardians,
VCSD is considering reintroducing the Odyssey of the Mind program. An information meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m. in the elementary school library.
Odyssey of the Mind aligns closely with our mission to support students by fostering their potential for scholarship, curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Participation in the program offers several core benefits, including:
- Building teamwork, time management, and effective communication skills
- Augmenting classroom learning with practical, hands-on experience
- Expanding creative problem-solving capabilities
This extra-curricular program is supported by parent/guardian volunteers and involves students forming teams for grade levels K-5, 6-8 and 9-12. The program culminates in a full-day regional competition. In the past, we have had students win the regional competition and make it to the states.
Your presence at the meeting is highly appreciated as we look into how the Odyssey of the Mind program can support our students’ academic and personal growth.
