Clayton A. Bouton Student Nominated to U.S. Presidential Scholars Program

Bouton High SchoolSenior Vincent Coppola has been nominated for the 2024 Presidential Scholar program, according to the New York State Department of Education. The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars selects scholars based on academic success, artistic excellence, essays, school evaluations, transcripts, evidence of community service, leadership, and demonstrated commitment to high ideals. 

New York State Board of Regents Chancellor Lester W. Young, Jr. said the nominees are an inspiration to their fellow students and school communities.  

New York State Commissioner Betty A. Rosa said Coppola and the other 24 nominees have demonstrated excellence. “They have worked hard for this honor and have bright futures as they continue on to college, career, and civic life,” said Rosa. “I wish them well in the selection process.”

State Assemblymember Patricia Fahy says the district has reason to be proud of Coppola.

 “Vincent is involved in almost every area of the Voorheesville School District community, and I’m delighted that Vincent will be rightly recognized for his outstanding and exemplary academic and extracurricular achievements, and I look forward to seeing his continued future success.”

Coppola is one of just 25 students nominated statewide.
