Voorheesville Signing Day six students stand together

During a ceremony at the Voorheesville Central School District Performing Arts Center, six Class of 2023 students signed commitment agreements to play Division 3 Interscholastic Athletics when they begin their college careers this fall.

As family members and coaches looked on, Amanda Danz, Jenell Hall, Chloe Kirgan, Mariem Sayahi, Judson Woodworth and Jason Zeliph put pen to paper on May 24 and signaled their intent to continue as student-athletes.

Each student traveled a different path to realize this dream; now a new road lies ahead. The student-athletes are:

    • Amanda Danz, Division 3 Varsity Softball, Widener University
    • Jenell Hall, Division 3 Varsity Volleyball, Rochester Institute of Technology
    • Chloe Kirgan, Division 3 Indoor and Outdoor Track, SUNY Geneseo
    • Mariem Sayahi, Division 3 Varsity Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track,
    • Williams College
    • Judson Woodworth, Division 3 Varsity Football, Hartwick College.
    • Jason Zeliph, Division 3 Varsity Swim, Babson College

“They have accomplished something that only 6.7 percent of college-bound students in the country accomplish,” Athletic Director Joe Sapienza said. “These individuals excelled academically and athletically while here at Voorheesville. They have also contributed to the Voorheesville culture as leaders and citizens.”
