Turn what you love into a continuing education class.

We are recruiting instructors who want to get paid to share their talents and make learning fun! Our continuing education instructors come from all backgrounds. If you have an idea for a class, we would love to discuss how to bring it to the community.

FAQs for Continuing Education Instructors

When would I teach?

The program is offered each fall and spring. The fall session begins in October; the spring session begins in late February. Classes are held in the evenings and weekends.  The district will try to match your schedule when possible. You may offer a one-time class, a series, or teach weekly based on what works best for your topic. Most classes run between one and two hours, but you can suggest a different length.

What qualifications must I have?

No formal teaching experience is required and most classes don’t require formal certification-this is an opportunity for you to share knowledge and skills that you have acquired.

We welcome first-time instructors. Your skills and hobbies have value in our community and you don’t have to be an expert to make an impact.

How much does it pay?

$26.00 to $30.00 per instruction hour.

How do I get started?

The process is simple and we’ll walk you through each step. First, contact Jennie Augar, Director of Continuing Education to discuss your class idea.

Instructors are then appointed by the board of education and must complete onboarding paperwork.Fingerprinting is not required unless students may enroll in your class.

What is the deadline for applying?

Apply by June 26 for the fall session. This ensures there will be enough time to include your class information in the fall brochure mailed to district residents in August.
