Clayton A. Bouton Achieves Gold Status on AP School Honor Roll

Clayton A. Bouton High School has secured Gold status on the AP® School Honor Roll for the 2022-23 academic year. The College Board bestowed the recognition based on student enrollment and successes in Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The College Board bases the award on a school’s “college-bound culture” and ability to provide students with opportunities for academic growth.

In the category of College Culture, Clayton A. Bouton was awarded Gold status based on 77% of Class of 2023 students taking Advanced Placement classes. The College Board elevated the Class of 2023 results to Platinum status for both the percentage of students receiving college credit for their AP work (60%) and the number of students taking a total of five AP classes between grades 9-12 (33%).

According to the AP announcement, Research shows that students who take AP courses and exams are more likely to attend college and graduate on time. The students who enter four-year colleges with credit from AP accelerate their path to graduation and build confidence for college success.
