group photo everyone wearing black sweatshirtsCongratulations to the Voorheesville Science Olympiad for placing fourth place overall and winning the Top Small School Award at the Regional Tournament at Ballston Spa High School. “Voorheesville competed amongst 17 teams, including Bethlehem, Columbia, Shaker and Guilderland,” said Science Olympiad Coach Ted Simons. “Our Blackbirds were just edged out by Ballston Spa for a berth in the State competition,” he said.

“This is one of those #proudprincipal moments,” said Principal Shea. “I’ve had the pleasure of watching this group work tirelessly after school over the last few weeks working on perfecting their technical builds. Having placed fourth among 17 area schools and then being recognized as “Top Small School” is awesome.”

The Blackbirds won medals in 17 of the 23 events including double medals in Forensics and Codebusters.
