About the 2025-26 school budget

The 2025-26 school budget increases spending by $42,884 / 0.12%, resulting in an estimated tax rate increase of 5.97%. The increase includes $1,020,787 to cover debt repayment related to the 2022 capital improvement project.

The tax levy increase of 5.97% was at the district’s calculated tax levy limit, or cap. As a result, the proposal needed a simple majority vote (50% plus one vote) for approval.

The budget proposal will allow VCSD to maintain class sizes and continue all current programs and services, including, but not limited to:

  • College and career-ready coursework, such as distance learning, advanced placement and BOCES Career & Technical Education.
  • Special education.
  • Social emotional initiatives.
  • Extracurriculars, clubs and activities.

Along with funding for our educational program and to ensure the safety and security of our campus, the approved budget also includes funding for a part-time social worker to address increased student needs

“We are grateful to our community for their support,” said Superintendent Frank Macri. “This budget will allow us to continue in our mission of providing programs and instructional strategies that support the needs and growth of each of our learners.”
