The Voorheesville Central School District is partnering with Community Hospice to support local families in talking to children about such topics as grief, death and loss.
Grief counselors from Community Hospice will be available 6 p.m. Aug. 23 in the Voorheesville Elementary School gymnasium to facilitate a discussion around the themes of death and grief. Topics will include how to talk to children about death, what to expect developmentally with the grief process, ways to support children and other grieving family members and how to take care of yourself when your child or family member is grieving. There will also be time for questions and answers.
Community resources will also be shared, including information on grief counseling and specific grief programming for youth.
