(October 11, 2019) Hudson Brody, one of our current MS students and a member of Art Club, spoke to his Grandmother Carol Z. Brody about sharing her knowledge of painting with us. Mrs. Brody was in the area visiting with family for the week and contacted Ms. McCaffrey (advisor of Art Club) to express her interest in demonstrating to our Art Club members.
Mrs. Brody is a member of the National Watercolor Society, her work has been in numerous National Juried Shows and has received many awards. Her work has also been featured in magazines such as "Watercolor", and "Splash 11". She also teaches classes and workshops.
At the Art Club meeting on October 8, Mrs. Brody demonstrated the watercolor painting techniques of "underpainting" and "lifting". The Art Club students were able to create beautiful paintings of trees with colorful backgrounds. Having Mrs. Brody was a wonderful experience for students to receive a lesson from a practicing artist and they all enjoyed learning from her.
