May 10 | One positive COVID case identified in middle school community

The district learned about one new positive case of COVID-19 in our school community over the weekend and is informing our community on Monday, May 10, 2021.

  • The district was informed that one individual associated with the middle school tested positive for COVID-19.
    • There was possible exposure with the case. Affected individuals will be contacted by the district and/or Albany County DOH.

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict the district from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

The district continues to follow all prevention protocols in accordance with guidelines from the New York State Department of Health and CDC — this includes a thorough cleaning and disinfecting of all school buildings. All schools remain open for in-person instruction.
