Dec. 29 | Member of the Middle School Community Tests Positive for COVID-19

The district learned about a positive COVID-19 case Monday afternoon, December 28th.

  • An individual associated with the middle school tested positive for Covid-19. We are working with the Albany County Department of Health on contact tracing. The district will contact all individuals on the school contact list and provide the names to the Albany County Department of Health. Albany County Department of Health will also reach out to all contacts and advise on the quarantine's need/length.

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict the district from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

The district continues to follow all prevention protocols in accordance with guidelines from the New York State Department of Health and CDC — this includes a thorough cleaning and disinfecting of all school buildings. All schools will remain open for in-person instruction after the holiday break.  

If there are any updates or changes to the upcoming school schedule, the district will notify you immediately.
