School Reopening Community Survey

I hope that you are enjoying the summer and the beautiful weather. Although September is still weeks away, we know that many in our community are trying to imagine what school will look like when we reopen in the fall.

As stated in my most recent SNN, the district utilizes the recently released state guidance and a wide array of input, to develop reopening plans. This information can be found on the district website: Reopening report from the superintendent.

On Thursday, I will be sharing a document (sending through SNN and posting on the website) that provides a review of the NYSED guidelines/expectations and an overview of the Voorheesville reopening plan. The community will also receive this information through a series of forums hosted on July 29. Separate forums, where participants will submit questions in advance, will be held for Parents/Guardians, K-6 Faculty and Staff, 7-12 Faculty and Staff, and Students. The document will contain the links and directions for submitting questions to be covered at the forums.

To help better understand the community's needs, we ask that you please take some time to fill out the following survey. This information will help guide the district in developing, evaluating, and flexibly restructuring programs throughout the foreseeable future. We recognize that it is necessary for these plans to be fluid and revisited throughout the summer. There is a large amount of information that we are asking for you to complete. We are requesting that the survey is completed by Thursday, July 30.

We appreciate your input and support while we work to create a safe and educationally sound structure for our children.

Thank you,

Frank Marci
Superintendent of schools
