Diagnostic COVID-19 Testing by Appointment

The Voorheesville Central School District is now offering COVID-19 diagnostic testing for students and staff. Diagnostic testing is for individuals that are showing symptoms of COVID-19.

As many community members have discovered, finding a testing site that performs PCRs quickly and efficiently is becoming more difficult each week. The district is working with Albany County Department of Health along with their partnership with Quadrant Biosciences to offer a saliva based Lab PCR COVID-19 test.

The COVID-19 test has a typical turnaround time of 24-48 hours after the test arrives in the lab. This new diagnostic testing will enable our district to expedite the process by allowing us to perform the test and, via UPS, send it out to a lab the same day.

To be eligible for this Quadrant diagnostic test:

  • Student must be currently enrolled in the district.
  • Student must be registered through Quadrant.
  • Registration requires the child’s full legal name.
  • Quadrant asks that you provide your insurance information if you have insurance.
  • It is important to note that no copays or deductibles of any sort will be owed. Insurance is needed so when Quadrant initiates the billing process, grant money is allocated correctly.

VCSD diagnostic testing will be held Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the secondary campus. On days where an individual becomes symptomatic during school hours, diagnostic testing can be scheduled outside of the predetermined set hours. For all diagnostic testing, an appointment is necessary. To schedule an appointment, please contact Megan Pooler, RN, by email mpooler@voorheesville.org or by phone at (518) 765-3314 ext. 210.

The testing will be conducted in a drive-thru setting. Appointment holders will be directed to park in front of entrance Z at the high school campus, located directly across from the tennis courts.

A special thank you to Albany County Department of Health in providing the testing resources to the district which allows for us to provide this service to our school community. If you have any questions, please follow up with our High School/Middle School Nurse, Megan Pooler, for clarification or to schedule an appointment.
